Renee on Skincare, Wellness & Why It All Starts Within

Welcome to this week’s episode of the Resoluna Podcast!

Today we’re shifting gears into something empowering: beauty and aesthetics. Our guest is Renee—a stylist, skincare expert, and overall beauty guru with 15+ years in the industry. She’s seen trends come and go, but her philosophy has remained rooted in one thing: making people feel good, from the inside out.

A Holistic Approach to Beauty

Renee got into the beauty world not just to help people look good—but to help them feel better. For her, skincare is self-care. Whether it’s soaking in a bath, getting a massage, or taking time to apply serums and sunscreen, beauty is about rituals that make you feel alive and at peace.

“Taking care of myself is a reflection of how I feel on the inside—and I want that to show on the outside.”

Her Skincare Non-Negotiables

If you're overwhelmed by the endless array of products and 12-step routines, Renee has great news: you can simplify. Her foundational advice?

Cleanse. Moisturize. Apply SPF.
That’s it. That’s the baseline. Even something as simple as a gentle soap in the shower can be a starting point—no fancy serums required (unless you want them).

Yet you'd be surprised—many clients don’t even wash their face regularly. For Renee, that’s step one.

Inside the Glow: Renee’s Daily Routine

Renee’s skin has that unmistakable “glow,” and she credits it not to makeup, but to consistency and internal wellness. Here’s a peek into her daily rituals:

Morning:

  • Gua Sha: A 15-minute ritual using oil and a stone to encourage lymphatic drainage

  • Dry brushing

  • Vibration plate session

  • Gym workout

  • Shower + skincare:

    • Cleanser

    • Vitamin C

    • Hyaluronic acid

    • Moisturizer

    • SPF (Renee swears by Color Science tinted sunscreen)

  • Minimal makeup: Lip gloss, mascara, blush

Night:

  • Shower + cleanse

  • Moisturize + tone

  • Foreal Organics Sunshade Butter layered all over the body for hydration

“My whole routine takes about 30 minutes total. You don’t need to spend a long time—it’s just about doing it.”

Her Favorite Treatments

Renee loves microneedling for deep skin transformation, citing its ability to boost collagen, smooth fine lines, and promote healthy turnover.

For a more relaxing experience, she recommends lymphatic massage, hydrafacials, or neck and face hydration treatments. All are designed to detox and revive your skin.

She also encourages starting small:

  • Begin with a facial

  • Observe how your skin reacts

  • Gradually build toward deeper treatments like chemical peels, plasma pen, or even laser if needed

Trends She Loves—and Some She’d Skip

In: Natural looks, buildable tinted sunscreen, minimalist makeup, and internal wellness
Out: BBLs and overly invasive body modifications

Renee’s style leans toward enhancing what you already have, not changing it.

“I take creatine, protein, Nutrafol, and minerals—not for vanity, but for energy and vitality. When your body feels good, your skin shows it.”

Face Yoga, Gua Sha & Lymphatic Drainage

TikTok might have you lifting your eyebrows in strange ways, but Renee swears by gua sha and massage over face yoga.

Her reason? Tension release. Gua sha not only sculpts, but also relieves fluid retention, TMJ, and facial tightness—all by activating the lymphatic system.

“The lymphatic system doesn’t move on its own. You have to stimulate it. Gua sha, vibration plates, dry brushing—they all help reduce stagnation.”

What If I’ve Already Damaged My Skin?

For those of us who spent our youth with baby oil and tinfoil (hello, sun worshippers), Renee says it’s not too late.

While some damage is permanent, much can be improved with:

  • Microneedling

  • Chemical peels

  • IPL or CO2 laser (for advanced care)

  • Consistent at-home maintenance

“Start small. Don’t jump into lasers. See how your skin reacts first, and go from there.”

Final Thoughts: Start Where You Are

Renee’s message is clear: beauty isn’t about doing everything. It’s about doing something—consistently and with care. Start with washing your face. Add SPF. Stay hydrated. And above all, choose treatments and habits that make you feel good inside and out.
